BIHAĆ, June 15 (FENA) - UNHCR Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the City of Bihać today, with the support of the partner organization "Save the Children", organized a sports event, which gathered refugee children and asylum seekers from the reception centers Borići and Sedra, and children from the local community to socialize and enjoy sports competitions.
Socializing on the grounds of the Sports and Recreation Center "STENS" was organized to mark the World Refugee Day.
"UNHCR insists on more significant inclusion of refugees in health care, education and sports. By organizing this event in which children from local and displaced communities participate, we want to put a special emphasis on socializing and sports, because in fact sports bring people together. For children who have been forced to leave their home, playing sports with their schoolmates helps to gain self-confidence, make new friendships and gain a sense of welcome. That is why today there are about 50 children from the local community, and about thirty children who are currently staying in reception centers ", said Head of the UNHCR field office in Bihać, Vahidin Ogrešević.
