Tegeltija: BiH Presidency should consider the budget soon

FENA Muhamed Hadžibegić

SARAJEVO, June 15 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija (SNSD) said today in an address to members of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly that he does not think anyone is blocking the adoption of the budget but that there is a different view on the allocation of funds for mitigating impacts of coronavirus pandemic and salaries of employees in BiH institutions.

In response to the MP's question, Tegeltija said that he does not know the reason why the new budget proposal of BiH institutions for 2021 was not included in the agenda of the session of the Presidency of BiH.

He reminded that the Council of Ministers determined the draft budget of BiH institutions for 2021 and submitted it to the Presidency of BiH, which returned it with clear instructions on what should be changed.

“At the next session, we did that and submitted an amended proposal to the Presidency. I expect it to be on their agenda soon,” Tegeltija added.

He pointed out that the Council of Ministers of BiH, when it comes to the proposal of the budget of BiH institutions for 2021, did everything that was planned within the prescribed deadlines.

Tegeltija underlined that delays in the adoption of the budget of BiH institutions are most often caused by the establishment of the Global Fiscal Framework and the issue of distribution of funds from the single account.

The procedure for adopting the state budget is such that it is determined in the form of a draft by the Council of Ministers of BiH and sent to the Presidency of BiH, which submits it in the form of a proposal to the Houses of the BiH Parliament for final adoption.
