BRČKO, June 16 (FENA) - Representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the Brčko District of BiH met today in the City Hall with the Commander of the European Union Force (EUFOR) in BiH, Major General Alexander Platzer to discuss security and District development.
Mayor Esed Kadrić, Deputy Mayor Anto Domić, Parliament Speaker Siniša Milić and Vice President Ivo Filipović attended the meeting, as well as Principal Deputy High Representative and Supervisor for Brčko Michael Scanlan, the Brčko District Government announced.
Mayor Kadrić pointed out that Brčko, in accordance with its competencies, is committed to preserving the political, economic, financial and security stability of this local community, especially emphasizing the importance of the fight against corruption and stated that the institutions of the District are actively working and cooperating in all fields.
As Kadrić said, good cooperation with EUFOR as well as with all other international institutions and organizations in BiH also contributes to that.
EUFOR Commander Major General Platzer said he is proud of the continued cooperation with the Brčko District and stressed EUFOR's commitment to continue to contribute to a safe and stable environment in the District, but also throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Supervisor Scanlan welcomed the fact that Brčko has put a safe and peaceful environment for all its residents in the first place, which is an important precondition for the development and progress of the community.
"In this sense, the policy of zero tolerance towards corruption, patronage and misuse of public resources has a central place. The work of the police in the new and modern building, the adoption of the Law on Prevention of Conflicts of Interest and the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Office are signs that the District and its partners considered priorities,” Scanlan said.
