SARAJEVO, June 17 (FENA) - Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković addressed today at the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) foreign ministers summit in Antalya, Republic of Turkey.
She congratulated the hosts on successfully chairing the initiative in a very challenging time of the pandemic, emphasizing the importance of regional integration, but with special emphasis on speeding up the path to the European Union and resolving open issues.
“Despite our intensified efforts to deepen our cooperation in the fight against COVID-19, we cannot allow a pandemic or any other socio-political circumstances to negatively affect and slow down our partnership in other vital areas, or the progress of non-EU countries, which are part of the SEECP on their path to accession to the European Union,” said Turković.
As she pointed out, our determination to improve the quality of cooperation in the judiciary, the rule of law and internal affairs, simply must not be diminished by an overemphasized focus on a particular issue.
“I believe that efforts after recovery from a pandemic could be better targeted by increasing the scope and quality of information exchange that could help avoid duplication of effort. We must nurture better cooperation and coordination between ourselves and other regional factors in order to have more efficient outcomes, simplified processes and resources,” Turković added, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
