World Refugee Day marked under the motto 'Together we can achieve everything'
SARAJEVO, June 20 (FENA) - The World Refugee Day, June 20, was marked under the motto "Together we can achieve everything" by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Women's Initiative (BHWI), a partner organization of the UNHCR BiH, which deals with providing psychosocial protection to persons under international protection in BiH.
In the past three days, sports and cultural events were organized throughout BiH together with the beneficiaries of the centers and volunteers of the reception centers Delijaš, Salakovac, Blažuj and Ušivak where sports tournaments, cultural and artistic ceremonies were organized, as well as presentations of the customs of the countries from which the beneficiaries of the centers come.
More than 300 participants, residents of these centers, employees of BHWI, World Vision BiH, IOM BiH, UNHCR BiH, Danish Refugee Council BiH, Vaša Prava BiH, SHC, UNICEF BiH, UNFPA BiH, security organizations and others, participated in playing for the teams of the organized indoor soccer tournament, music songs that presented the cultural richness of the countries of origin, but also preparing traditional dishes from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Congo, Togo ...
The events were supported by the UNHCR Representative in BiH Lucy Gagné, Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH Miloš Lučić, Commissioner for Migrants in the Sarajevo Canton Alma Tabaković, Director of BHWI Marijana Dinek and others.
