Three victims of Srebrenica genocide identified today

TUZLA, June 21 (FENA) - Three victims of the past war were officially identified today at the Commemorative Center in Tuzla.

These are Bosniak victims who were killed in the Srebrenica area in the summer of 1995. Their remains were found in mass graves discovered in the village of Kamenica, Zvornik Municipality, during 2002 and 2008. The victims were first identified using the DNA method, and then the obtained identity was officially confirmed by their family members.

“Meho (Salih) Karahodžić, born in 1939 in Klašnik - Višegrad, was officially identified. Today, the family also confirmed the identity of Salih (Džanan) Džananović, born in 1955 in Podsoje - Srebrenica. Husein (Ibrahim) Kurbašić, born in 1932 in Vučkovci - Gradačac, was also identified,” said the BiH Institute for Missing Persons.

The families of those three victims, after today's identification, gave the consent for their burial this year at the collective funeral at the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center.
