FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, June 24 (FENA) - Damir Mašić, head of the SDP caucus in the FBiH Parliament and former Minister of Education and Science in the FBiH Government (2011-2015), welcomed the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court which annulled the verdict of the RS Supreme Court that denied the existence of discrimination against Bosniak students in Konjević Polje, it was announced.

Mašić emphasized that the fight for the rights of returnee children in RS has been going on for more than a decade since the Bosnian language was challenged by the SNSD government in the entity.

Therefore, the first concrete measures, in order to at least partially protect the rights of returnee children from Konjević Polje, were adopted in early 2014, when the FBiH Ministry of Education and Science headed by Mašić, and in cooperation with the Islamic Community in BiH, the Ministry of Displaced Persons and refugees of the FBiH and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton provided and financed classes in Nova Kasaba according to the FBiH curriculum, the statement said.
