Plakalo: End of stories on non-papers, peaceful divisions and similar documents

FENA Fedzad Forto

SARAJEVO, June 25 (FENA) - Secretary General of the European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina Haris Plakalo said that any resolution of BiH's international partners, in this case the European Parliament, is welcome, if it will contribute to stabilizing overall socio-political relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The European Union underlined its strong support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. First of all, that should be the end of stories about any "non-papers", peaceful divisions, or similar documents that can only cause unrest within Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Plakalo told FENA, commenting on yesterday's European Parliament resolution on BiH.

He also believes that it is very important to emphasize that the EU insists and continues to contribute to the development of certain areas, from judicial reform, environmental protection, to the centralization and harmonization of areas for opening companies and businesses. Digitization and informatization are necessary to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to EU standards.

According to him, it is important to point out the part related to foreign and security policy, more precisely relations with neighboring countries, primarily the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Serbia and Kosovo and improving those relations through the final resolution of open issues related to borders with those countries.

Plakalo emphasized that any resolution, conclusion and agreement within the most important international partners of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely the EU, the USA and the UN Security Council, is certainly welcome if it will stabilize the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and contribute to unification, not further separation of all political entities within Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the citizens of this country. Although the international community has mechanisms to impose any decision if there is a need and support for it, it is obvious that they bypass this practice much more, in the context of trying to make Bosnia and Herzegovina work one day without any interference from international institutions.
