BHAAAS scientific conference ends today in Mostar
MOSTAR, June 27 (FENA) – The 12th edition of the Days of the Bosnian-American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS) in BiH ended today in Mostar. Three-day conference was attended by hundreds of distinguished professors, doctors, academics and other dignitaries from the world of science, culture and art.
The conference was dedicated to medical, technical, natural and human sciences, and the two-day student program attracted special attention. Thus, the symposium of postgraduate research in biology and chemistry gathered 14 presentations of students from six universities, five of which are from BiH. Research, knowledge and ideas were intensively exchanged, and the three best presentations were awarded.
Mladena Malinović from the University of Banja Luka won the first place for the best presentation of her master's thesis in chemistry, Nermin Djuzić from the International Burch University in Sarajevo won the second place for his doctoral project in bioengineering and genetics, and Emina Šunje from the University of Sarajevo was awarded third place for her doctoral project in biology.
In addition to the symposium, workshops, round tables and lectures by experts were held, which provided students with unique experiences and knowledge.
This year, for the first time, the International Ophthalmological Symposium was organized with the participation of about 100 ophthalmologists from BiH, the region and the world. Participants had a unique opportunity to hear lectures by prominent BiH experts, as well as distinguished professors from the United States, Great Britain and Turkey. Special emphasis is placed on new therapies and advances in diagnosis and treatment in ophthalmology. The BHAAAS Ophthalmology Young Researcher Award for the best research work was also awarded to student Katarina Knezović from the Medical Faculty of the University of Mostar, the BHAAAS announced.
