Bosnia and Herzegovina chairs the COSAP Conference

SARAJEVO, June 29 (FENA) - Under the chairmanship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the XVII Conference of the European Integration Parliamentary Committees of States participating in the Stabilization and Association Process (COSAP) was held online today, announced the Press Service of the BiH PA.
 
In addition to members of the Joint Committee for European Integration of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) Nikola Lovrinović, Halid Genjac, Snježana Novaković - Bursać, Lidija Bradara and Saša Magazinović, COSAP was attended by representatives of committees for European integration of the parliaments of Albania, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia, the Republic of Serbia and Kosovo.
 
During the first session on progress in the process of European integration through regional cooperation, the participants in COSAP were addressed by the Political Director of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Amer Kapetanović.
 
According to Kapetanović, the region faces the problem of depopulation, youth unemployment, youth emigration, as well as problems of online radicalization and spreading fake news, the problem of organized crime, and the consequences of climate change as a new security threat.
 
COSAP participants welcomed and fully supported the priorities of the Slovenian EU Presidency and paid special attention to the benefits that all countries in the region will have from the EU economic support package.
 
COSAP participants also discussed the current situation in the process of European integration.
