SARAJEVO, July 2 (FENA) - Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton's Prosecutor's Office Sabina Sarajlija, Head of the Sarajevo Canton Anti-Corruption Office Erduan Kafedžić and a representative of the SC Ministry of the Interior signed an agreement today on establishing a joint coordination team between these three institutions of for the work on reports of corruption and corrupt activities in the canton.
The signing of the Agreement was welcomed by Eric Larson, Counselor at the SC Anti-Corruption Office, who noted the satisfaction of the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina in helping to establish an integrated approach to anti-corruption investigations.
"We hope that this Agreement will serve as a model for other levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was an initiative of local institutions and we are proud to have helped in its realization," Larson emphasized.
The agreement is a confirmation of the joint commitment of the three institutions to achieve better results in the fight against corruption.
The Chief Cantonal Prosecutor assessed the Agreement as a good tool that will improve cooperation between these institutions.
"Our cooperation has existed before. We dealt with the Office's applications with special care. With this agreement, we will also improve the quality of applications because we will now have direct communication at an early stage of this process. I believe in this document and I hope that all institutions will insist on its implementation. I believe that with synergy, we can get better quality indictments faster, which would certainly restore the trust of citizens in the work of institutions," Sarajlija emphasized.
