SARAJEVO, July 4 (FENA) - Participants of the tenth "Peace March Sarajevo - Nezuk - Srebrenica", entitled "March in memory of the victims of the genocide of the United Nations protected area" organized by the Association "Witnesses of their time" on Saturday departed from the Memorial to the murdered children of the besieged Sarajevo in 1992-1995 and embarked on an eight-day journey of more than 280 kilometers, to walk the distance in memory of several thousand Srebrenica residents who crossed the nearly 100-kilometer path in July 1995 to find salvation in Tuzla.
The president of the Association "Witnesses of their time", which organizes the "Peace March Sarajevo - Nezuk - Srebrenica", Muhamed Papić, said that 18 participants left Sarajevo on Saturday, and five more participants will join them in Nezuk.
"The route is the same as every year. The first night we sleep in the Igman Mountain Lodge on Ozren, the second night at Ponijeri, then Javorje and Jelovo brdo near Kalesija, and on Wednesday, July 7, we will arrive in Nezuk to join the traditional Peace March Nezuk - Potočari 2021. Participants in this year's March come from Turkey, Bihać, Travnik, Novi Travnik, Sarajevo," said Papić.
One of the oldest participants of the March is Slobodan Kisin from Sarajevo, who has been taking part in the "Peace March Sarajevo - Nezuk - Srebrenica" since 2015.
"My wish is that this year, even though I am 72 years old, I will manage to get there and pay my respect. We know everything that had happened there and it must be called by its real name," Slobodan Kisin affirms.
