SARAJEVO, July 5 (FENA) - A transport plane with a Hungarian donation of 200,000 Sinopharm vaccines against coronavirus landed this morning at the Sarajevo International Airport, and it is the largest single delivery of vaccines for BiH.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, also arrived in Sarajevo and said that the past year and a half had been extremely difficult and that the whole world was facing how to fight against the pandemic.

“We agree on two things, that is to save people's lives and that the only means of protecting human lives is vaccination. That is why Hungary has done everything to vaccinate as many citizens as possible in the shortest possible time,” he added.

Thanks to the successful purchase of vaccines and the successful vaccination campaign in Hungary, they are now in a position to help others, and the Minister noted that Hungary and the Western Balkans are directed at each other, which applies to the economy and stopping illegal migration.

“If the Western Balkans is doing well, it is good for Hungary. That is why we are happy to help, all with the goal of having a successful fight against the pandemic. The more successful protection in the Western Balkans, the safer Hungary is,” said Péter Szijjártó.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija, who together with the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić, received this donation, said that the donation was the result of previous talks and the visit of Minister Szijjarto in BiH.

He underlined that the intention was to buy vaccines at market prices, but in the end BiH received the vaccines as a donation, adding that with this morning's delivery of vaccines, 928,000 doses of vaccines arrived in BiH, which is enough to vaccinate priority groups.

He announced that the next delivery of Pfizer vaccines through the EU mechanism will arrive on Wednesday, as well as AstraZeneca vaccines, and that a million doses of vaccines should arrive by the end of this week.

Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić, thanked the Government of Hungary and the Embassy of Hungary in BiH, which he asked to help BiH in the procurement of vaccines.
