Bilateral consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of BiH and Hungary

SARAJEVO, July 6 (FENA) - Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Brkić and State Secretary for Security Affairs at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Sztaray led delegations of the two ministries at bilateral consultations held in Budapest today.

On that occasion, it was pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary have good political relations as well as bilateral cooperation, which has been intensified in all areas.

Deputy Minister Brkić expressed gratitude to Hungary, as a friendly country, for its full support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as for the importance that Hungary attaches to BiH in foreign relations, especially when it comes to assistance and donations in the fight against coronavirus.

Brkić thanked Hungary, all its institutions and the Hungarian people for the valuable and largest donation to BiH of 200,000 doses of "Sinopharm" vaccine, which was personally handed over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto yesterday.

He stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina appreciates the European Union's continued engagement in supporting stability and political and economic ties, both within the Western Balkans region and between the EU and the region.

He thanked the Embassy of Hungary in BiH, as the contact embassy for the NATO integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the support and assistance it provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its Euro-Atlantic path.

State Secretary Sztaray welcomed the progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to the European Union and NATO, and expressed Hungary's readiness for further support, assistance and exchange of experiences.

He pointed out that Hungary, as a NATO member, believes that regional cooperation plays an important role in building a secure and stable environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Press Service of the BiH MoFA said.
