SARAJEVO, July 7 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić welcomed Minister of Defense of Hungary Tibor Benko at the Sarajevo airport today, who came on an official visit to Hungarian soldiers within EUFOR and donated coronavirus vaccines to local employees of Camp Butmir.
On that occasion, Podžić and Benko discussed military cooperation projects between Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was stated at the meeting that, in accordance with the Defense and Security Policy of BiH, the Foreign Policy Strategy and the Law on Defense of BiH, the process of Euro-Atlantic integration is one of the priority goals for BiH.
Later in the day, BiH Deputy Defense Minister for Politics and Plans Mijo Krešić and Hungarian Defense Minister Tibor Benko attended a trilateral meeting with EUFOR Commander Major General Alexander Platzer at Camp Butmir.
Prior to the official meeting, they attended a ceremony to commemorate the deceased members of EUFOR and the delivery of more than 1,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine, donated by the Hungarian government to local Butmir employees.
Addressing the ceremony, BiH Deputy Defense Minister Krešić thanked Hungarian Minister Benko for the donation, as well as a donation of 200,000 doses of vaccines delivered by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto to BiH citizens on Monday.
Hungarian Defense Minister Benko stressed the importance of the participation of Hungarian troops in EUFOR and stressed that Hungary will continue to develop military-diplomatic cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH Ministry of Defense said.
