SARAJEVO, July 7 (FENA) - MPs in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted at today's session in the first reading the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Excise Tax in BiH, which stipulates the obligation to charge excise duties on tobacco products upon takeover of the products.
The Bill on the protection of the right to a trial within a reasonable time before the Court of BiH, which was considered in the second reading, was sent to the Collegium of the House of Representatives for harmonization as there was no entity majority for its adoption. The Bill amending the BiH Criminal Code, proposed by MP Denis Zvizdić, has also been submitted for harmonization.
The House of Representatives did not accept the Program and Financial Plan for 2021 of the Management Board of the Radio-Television of BiH, as well as the Report on the work of the Council of Ministers of BiH for 2020.
The House of Representatives rejected the initiative of Edita Đapo, which requested that the Council of Ministers and the competent Ministry of Communications and Transport is obliged to send the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Fundamentals of Road Safety and Traffic in BiH in order to change the provisions regarding violent behavior in traffic in three months-time at the latest.
The MPs also supported the parliamentary initiative of Vlatko Glavaš for the competent ministry of the Council of Ministers to BiH to award women basketball players for the quarterfinals of Eurobasket Championship, and the modified initiative of MPs from the SDA caucus regarding digitization.
An initiative of Predrag Kojović, Mirjana Marinković-Lepić, Aida Baručija and Damir Arnaut was accepted, which instructed the Council of Ministers to compile and submit to the House of Representatives of the PA BiH a complete report on BiH's participation in the World EXPO 2020.
