SARAJEVO, July 7 (FENA) - Deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina supported at today's session in the first reading the Bill on the Budget of the BiH Institutions and International Obligations for 2021.

The Bill on the budget was proposed by the Presidency of BiH, but at the same time it has instructed the Council of Ministers of BiH to initiate the procedure of increasing the minimum salaries for police officers employed in BiH police agencies and soldiers in the BiH Armed Forces.

At the end of March, the Council of Ministers of BiH determined the Bill on the Budget in the amount of 1.87 billion KM, which is about three percent more than the previous year. The budget envisages almost 844 million KM for servicing the external debt of BiH, or five percent more than in 2020.

The budget envisages 21.7 million KM for the fight against the pandemic, and the Council of Ministers of BiH will prescribe the users, purpose, amount and manner of use of these funds by special decisions.

The state institutions still operate on the basis of the Decision on Interim Financing for the third quarter of this year, which was passed because this year's budget has not yet been adopted, and which now needs to be confirmed by both houses of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly to enter into force.
