SARAJEVO, July 9 (FENA) - The vehicles with coffins carrying the remains of 19 victims of the genocide committed in Srebrenica in July 1995 went through Sarajevo today, and the sad convoy stopped in the city for a short period of time, on the way to the eternal resting place in the cemetery in Potočari.

The remains of identified victims of the 1995 genocide in and around Srebrenica, placed in three funeral vehicles, were escorted today from several locations in Sarajevo.

In front of the BiH Presidency building, the convoy was greeted by public figures from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as international officials, religious representatives and citizens.

"We will forever, until the day of judgment, remember and pay our respects to the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica. This is done by the whole civilized world and we will always invite those who have not yet done so to take the path that the whole civilized world is following. We are witnessing great pain and sorrow, the families of the victims must be respected," said a member of the Presidency of BiH, Šefik Džaferović.

He expressed regret that the situation in BiH is not yet at that level, referring to the political, religious, cultural and intellectual elites of the Serb people from the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska and the same elite of the Serb people from the Republic of Serbia.

He mentioned that it is important that the region of the Western Balkans takes that path, and that the Resolution on Srebrenica was adopted in the Parliament of Montenegro, as well as in the Parliament of Kosovo, because that is the path to follow.

"Everyone needs to face the past and thus start building our relationships. That is the path that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region should take," Džaferović said.

He called on the judicial institutions of BiH, after the Hague Tribunal has finished its work when it comes to BiH, to prosecute all those who committed crimes in BiH, especially the genocide in Srebrenica because he believes that no crime should go unpunished for anyone who had participated in any way in committing the only genocide in Europe and the greatest crime in Europe since World War II.

He also called on all those who know anything about the locations of the graves to say where they are, because more than 1,000 victims of the Srebrenica genocide are still being searched for and they need to be buried with dignity.

The oldest person to be buried in Potočari on July 11 is Husein Kurbašić, who was 63 years old when he was murdered. Azmir Osmanović and Fikret Kiverić were minors, aged 16 and 17. Zilha Delić is the only woman who will be buried this year, she was 24 years old. Father and son Hajro and Jusuf Aljić will also be buried on Sunday.
