Komšić: Milanović's statements inflict the most damage to Croats in BiH

SARAJEVO, July 14 (FENA) - President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović constantly provokes further discussions between the two countries with his actions, said today in a statement for FENA a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and leader of the Democratic Front (DF) Željko Komšić.

As he pointed out, Milanović came to Bosnia and Herzegovina, insulted not only Komšić personally but also the country he visited, saying that BiH was "the fifth wheel for the EU".

"We don't have to explain what it would look like in normal relations between the two countries, but since the relations between BiH and Croatia are as they are, and it is everything but normal, we live with such attitudes of the head of the neighboring country and he is doing it in our own home," said Komšić.

Komšić adds that he refrained from commenting, not wanting to "put out the fire with gasoline because he believes that Milanović seeks quarrels for some reason."

However, everything he did during the visit was inappropriate, Komšić believes, the views he expressed about BiH were inappropriate, but he did the greatest damage to Croats in BiH.

"He came here, said all that. A part of politicians who like to say that they are Croat politicians welcomed it. Milanović then took off, left us here to put out the fires and actually did a disservice primarily to the Croat people in BiH, to those whose name he swears by," said Komšić.

Nevertheless, Komšić announces that he will continue to behave like a decent man because he is aware of the need for relations between BiH and Croatia to be as good as possible since the two countries are very geographically connected because they share the longest border, but are also connected by personal ties.

Years before, Milanović supported Komšić in the 2010 elections for the position of a member of the Presidency of BiH from the Croat people, but now he says that Komšić has changed and that he would never do it again.

Komšić answered that he was the same person in 2006 when he ran for that position for the first time, but also in 2018, when he ran for a third term in the Presidency of BiH.

During his visit to BiH, Milanović also said that he "would not come to Sarajevo as long as Komšič sits in the Presidency of BiH". He does not consider him a legitimate representative of Croats in BiH. Komšić says he can live with that, but he believes it is bad behavior and that dialogue is always needed.
