SARAJEVO, July 14 (FENA) - The trial in the case against the FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and others in connection with the procurement of 100 Covid ventilators, worth 10,530,000 KM, which for the needs of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration were imported from China by the company “Silver Raspberry ” (Srebrna malina), owned by Fikret Hodžić.
The main trial, in this case, continued with the presentation of material evidence of the prosecution, focusing on a set of evidence from the Prosecution's analysis, such as telephone contacts and communication via Viber and WhatsApp, and e-mail, which took place between the persons named above in mid-April 2020.
In addition to Fadil Novalić, the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, the accused are the suspended director of FBiH CPA Fahrudin Solak and the owner of the company “Silver Raspberry” Fikret Hodžić, the legal entity "F. H. Srebrna malina", and the FBiH Minister of Finance Jelka Milićević.
Referring to the chronology of events that preceded the procurement of the mentioned ventilators, prosecutor Džermin Pašić stated that he wanted to prove that the actions of the accused were improvisations and that they were taken with the knowledge and approval of the first and the second accused.
The indictment charges Novalić, Solak and Hodžić with conspiracy to commit criminal offenses in connection with acts of abuse of office or authority, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trading in influence.
They are also charged of money laundering, falsification or destruction of business or trade books or documents, falsification of official documents and violation of the obligation to keep trade or business books and compile financial statements and their falsification or destruction.
Milićević is charged with negligent work in the service.
The main trial is due to continue on July 16, when the presentation of material evidence by the prosecution should continue.
