SARAJEVO, July 14 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić paid an official visit to Donji Vakuf today, where he visited the company Malak Janj, and met with the mayor Huso Sušić.

This company is one of 26 export companies in the field of wood, paper and graphic industry that were directly supported by the FBiH Government in the past year, with the aim of mitigating the negative consequences of the pandemic. Malak company received more than 75,000 KM for payment of business expenses, and despite the pandemic, the company hired ten new workers at the end of last year.

Director of the company, Ernad Smajić, informed the Prime Minister about the work process of the Malak company, as well as the problems related to the lack of raw materials for production.

Prime Minister Novalić emphasized that it is illogical for companies that make final products to find raw materials with difficulty.

“We tried to correct that partly with the law on forests, which did not pass the Parliament and has been in a procedure for five years. The competencies and responsibility for such a situation were taken over by the cantons, which invested that wealth in their forest-industrial enterprises. The Federation of BiH will change what is in its competence, but most of the competencies are in the cantons and their forest industrial companies,” Prime Minister Novalić explained.

When it comes to assistance to lower levels of government, the Municipality of Donji Vakuf received 305,000 KM last year, 125,000 KM as a one-time financial assistance to the budget and 180,000 KM for the project of building a "Waste Management Center".
