BRČKO, July 15 (FENA) – Brčko District Government procured 20,000 doses of "Sinopharm" vaccine which arrived today.
Mayor of the Brčko District, Esed Kadrić, said that thanks to the received vaccines, it will be possible to implement the Vaccination Plan adopted by the Protection and Rescue Headquarters, and called on the residents of the District to get vaccinated, the District Government announced.
The mayor added that 1.2 million KM were spent for the purchase of 20,000 "Sinopharm" vaccines, and expressed appreciation to the head of the Department of Health, who was engaged in this purchase and who is leading the immunization process in Brčko.
"We have acquired a sufficient number of vaccines and now it is important for us that, after the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices confirms the vaccines, we vaccinate as many people as possible in the shortest possible time. Therefore, we will increase the number of teams and probably the number of places where citizens can be vaccinated," Šibonjić added.
It is expected that the procurement of 20,000 doses of "Sinopharm" vaccine and 32,000 doses that Brčko successively procures through the "COVAX program" and EU4Health will fully ensure the fulfillment of the goals for immunization of the population, the statement said.
