SARAJEVO, July 19 (FENA) - This year, if the epidemiological situation does not worsen, the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) will take place in the presence of the audience and guests, and we expect it to be a Festival that will at least partially remind us of the atmosphere we had before the pandemic, said today Director of SFF Mirsad Purivatra.
Ahead of the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival, which will take place from 13 to 20 August, a press conference was held at the Meeting Point cinema in Sarajevo, where jury members of the Competition Program – Feature Film were announced, and the new main sponsor of the Festival: UniCredit Bank was presented.
The jury president is actress Jasna Đuričić (Serbia) and the jury memebrs are: director and screenwriter Mike Cahill (USA), director and screenwriter Lili Horvát (Hungary), artistic director of Viennale – International Film Festival in Vienna Eva Sangiorgi (Austria), and executive director of AFC – Austrian Film Commission Martin Schweighofer (Austria).
Purivatra said that in a very constructive cooperation with the Government of the Sarajevo Canton and the entire Crisis Staff, a few days ago they received an official decision on the format of the SFF, i.e. the conditions under which the Festival can take place. The capacity of venues will certainly be reduced according to the measures and very detailed instructions they received from the SC Crisis Staff, which the public will be informed in more detail in the coming period. In doing so, as Purivarta added, all the experiences that world film festivals or some other cultural institutions have had so far are used.
Purivatra said that new times and different circumstances have resulted in new creative solutions, and what has remained unchanged from the beginning is the program quality. The audience is waiting for some new locations, but also numerous activities prepared for them by the new main sponsor UniCredit Bank, which has recognized the values, goals and mission of SFF.
Chair of the Management Board of UniCredit Bank d.d. Amina Mahmutović said that they are proud to be partners of this project, and that they extremely appreciate everything that SFF has achieved and built over the years.
