ZAGREB / MOSTAR, July 21 (FENA) - President of HDZ BiH and Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Dragan Čović talked with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in Zagreb about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina with special emphasis on equality of three constituent peoples in BiH and the protection of rights of the Croat people.
The officials also discussed fight against covid-19, the vaccination process and the continuation of economic cooperation between BiH and Croatia, the Press Service of HDZ BiH announced.
Čović thanked Prime Minister Plenković for the help of Croatia, which, as a partner and neighboring country, donated a total of 240,000 doses of vaccine to BiH.
The Prime Minister emphasized that, following the decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, BiH citizens without health insurance will be able to be vaccinated free of charge in Croatia, which is an important message to Croats in BiH, but also to Bosniaks, Serbs and all other BiH citizens.
Plenković said that at the EU level, Croatia is the strongest advocate of the continuation of BiH’s European path, and he also expressed support for BiH's approach to NATO membership. He added that it is important to strengthen the reform process, which guarantees economic stability and the well-being of the entire country.
Čović emphasized the importance of the current reform processes for the European path and the internal stability and development of BiH. He expressed confidence in reaching a final agreement on changes to the Election Law and limited constitutional changes during 2021, emphasizing that the basic assumptions of BiH must not be further jeopardized.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, pointed out that the issue of the position of Croats in BiH is of vital interest for Croatia.
