SARAJEVO, July 29 (FENA) - The session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, which was canceled today by the order of the Chairman Zoran Tegeltija, should have been the last before the collective annual holiday leave of the Council of Ministers of BiH, and important items that cannot be postponed should have been on the agenda, warned the Deputy Chair of the BiH Council of Ministers and BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Bisera Turković.
“I believe that everyone will show responsibility and the 43rd session will be scheduled as soon as possible in the interest of the citizens. We still have a lot of work to do, we need to fight the challenges of the pandemic, especially the economic consequences, work on reforms and infrastructure projects, we must continue to work on meeting the 14 priorities of the European Union. If we are talking about political blockades and obstructions as announced, then we should keep in mind that our positive legislation does not provide for paid leave with the aim of implementing political blockades,” said Turković.
According to her, any absence from work must be approved, otherwise the consequences provided by law will follow.
“I call on everyone to strictly adhere to the provisions provided by the law according to which work is paid, and unjustified absence from work is punishable. The institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina must function, we are obliged by law and we have the obligation towards the citizens as well. After all, we all receive a salary from the budget for our work. Nowhere in the world is it acceptable not to do your job and receive a salary that comes from taxpayers. Either we will work and be paid for it, or we will be absent due to the political boycott, and then we will not be paid with the possibility of losing our job consequently due to the length of the absence,” wrote Turković on social networks.
