'Equally Different' campaign, supported by EU,gathered 500 participants from BiH

FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, July 30 (FENA) - The organization of amputees UDAS, together with its partners Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Banja Luka and the Association of Citizens "Something More", concluded the first part of the campaign "Equally Different", funded by the European Union within the project "Communities of different but equal citizens".

The “Equally Different” campaign addresses the challenges of inclusion of people with disabilities and advocates for their improvement with local communities and relevant institutions through activities in five target cities (Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, Bijeljina and Trebinje) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The organization of the round table "All Persons with Accessibility II" with representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities, city administration and competent institutions in Sarajevo and Trebinje on July 26 and 28, respectively, revised the previously defined priorities of accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities in target cities.

More than 400 citizens in the mentioned cities participated in an empathic-educational performance in which citizens had the opportunity to briefly put themselves in the position of persons with disabilities and find out to what extent the media content of public services is accessible to people with disabilities. They then shared their thoughts through messages that they symbolically "pushed under the rug", the UDAS Organization of amputees said.
