STOLAC, August 1 (FENA) - The exhibition "Stećak 3D" opened today in the Mak House in Stolac, organized by the Mak Dizdar Foundation, and within the project "StećAR: Enhanced Vision of Stećak", which aims to register necropolises of stećak tombstones, contribute to the promotion of cultural heritage and point out the importance of preserving stećak tombstones.
The project is implemented with the support of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Resilience Initiative (BHRI) program, implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
So far, the exhibitions have been held in Sarajevo, Zvornik, Zenica, Banja Luka and Mostar, but this time the exhibition remains in Stolac as a permanent part of the museum-gallery center of the Mak House.
In addition, the exhibition Stećak 3D was opened as part of the program of the Slovo Gorčina Cultural Festival, an event with one of the longest traditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of its founding, and the Stećak 3D exhibition is part of the quality three-day program of this jubilee.
The idea of the exhibition is to combine the traditional and the modern with the help of the 3D modeling process, the medieval BiH cultural heritage, which is often difficult to access.
“The project wants to show that there are stećak tombstones in almost all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that there is a lot of artistic wealth and motifs that are still not adequately cataloged, presented, let alone sufficiently studied,” said Gorčin Dizdar, President of the Mak Dizdar Foundation.
He added that it is also an idea to activate young people to get to know their heritage.
