SARAJEVO, August 3 (FENA) - The total number of tourist arrivals in BiH in June 2021 was 88,191, which is 44.6 percent more than in May 2021 and 231.7 percent more than in June 2020.
Tourists realized 200,172 overnight stays in BiH in June, which is 51.8 percent more than in May 2021 and 263.1 percent more than in June 2020.
The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays was 54.6 percent, while the share of foreign tourists was 45.4 percent.
The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists in June was higher by 47.6 percent compared to May 2021 and higher by 162.5 percent compared to June 2020. The number of overnight stays of foreign tourists was 57.2 percent higher than in May 2021 and 573.9 percent higher than in June 2020, according to the BiH Agency for Statistics.
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a large increase in the index of visits and overnight stays in June 2021 compared to June 2020, when most accommodation facilities were closed.
In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists in June 2021, most overnight stays were realized by tourists from the United Arab Emirates (19.3 percent), Serbia (17.2 percent), Saudi Arabia (13.2 percent), Croatia (7.7 percent), Germany (3.4 percent) and Turkey (3.1 percent) for a total of 63.9 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 36.1 percent of overnight stays.
