TUZLA, August 6 (FENA) - A solemn ceremony was held last night on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the City Board of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Tuzla, which was also attended by SDA President Bakir Izetbegovic.
Congratulating the anniversary, Izetbegović stated that the past three decades have been full of dramatic events that other nations have not experienced in a century. He also reminded of the people who marked the past period and who are no longer with us.
These days, he added, we are entering a new crisis and blockade, but, as he said, not because the patriotic forces have weakened, but because nationalist policies have been on a clear defense in the last year.
“This is their response to a series of positive shifts in favor of BiH, i.e. shifts to their detriment,” said the President of the SDA.
Izetbegović reminded of the concessions that the SNSD was forced to make in the past period, such as concessions in the context of the NATO path. He also reminded of important changes in the same period, such as changes in the composition of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH, removal of the plaque dedicated to war criminal Radovan Karadzic, demolition of an illegal mosque in the yard of Fate Orlović, appointing a new foreign judge in the BiH Constitutional Court, holding a military exercise on Manjača, adopting resolutions condemning genocide in the region, and changes in the BiH judiciary.
“HDZ also failed to impose the planned changes to the Election Law based on "legitimate representatives". Croatian diplomacy tried to help the HDZ by lobbying NATO and the European Parliament, but was rejected by Europeans and Americans. The documents adopted last month by NATO and the European Parliament stand strongly with BiH without new divisions,” said Izetbegović.
Izetbegović assessed that the strong action of the SDA, in the country and abroad, initiated a new determination of friends in the international community, and that SDA personnel in the Presidency of BiH, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, embassies and many friends significantly contributed to that.
“We have the truth and the right position on our side. We defend the state, peace and stability, and thus represent the values and interests of the civilized world. That is why we are overcoming with much less effort and resources,” said the president of the SDA.
He added that there are two important values that the SDA jointly defends with Europe, and that is that violence, ethnic cleansing, concentration camps and genocide must not be allowed to achieve goals and that side wins, and that the idea of different religions, cultures and nations can live together.
SDA President said that great powers, such as the United States, will not withdraw from BiH, and that the NATO alliance had been in BiH for a long time and would never withdraw.
He then referred to the insults of Milorad Dodik against the Bosniak people, saying that if it were as the president of the SNSD says, Milošević and Karadžić would rule BiH today.
He assessed that Dodik's policy leads to crises and blockades, but that the SDA will not give up and that, as before, it will find answers. Izetbegović stated that the last answer from Banja Luka was hard, and that the decisions of the RS National Assembly introduced a verbal offense and that they would not be approved before the Constitutional Court of BiH.
At the end of his address, he said that the restructuring of the SDA must be completed, and that the party will win the upcoming General Elections.
