SARAJEVO, August 10 (FENA) - The Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) have made official the realization of the joint project "Open Air Cinema Stari Grad" within the upcoming edition of this year's SFF.
The cinema with a capacity of 250 seats is set in an open space, in an attractive location of the multi-purpose square across from the City Hall and is the first official festival location in the municipality. Visitors will be able to watch the film "Ten in a Half" by the BiH Oscar winner Danis Tanović on Friday.
The agreement on the realization of this project was signed today at a press conference held at this location by the Mayor of Stari Grad Ibrahim Hadžibajrić and the Director of SFF Mirsad Purivatra.
Purivatra assessed this as a new chapter in the long-term cooperation between this municipality and the Sarajevo Film Festival.
The festival has been a 'resident' of Municiplity Stari Grad for 25 years, the most beautiful municipality in the Sarajevo Canton, according to Purivatra, with whom the prestigious festival has been cooperating since before.
The SFF team is happy that the Festival gets the most interesting location that will be the most promoted.
Mayor Hadžibajrić stated that this year the Municipality has allocated 25,000 KM to support the SFF, and he reminds that the idea of an open air cinema arose long before its realization.
The multipurpose square was opened last year, Hadžibajrić reminds, but this year its use for the needs of the Sarajevo Film Festival was made official, and in the following period the Municipality will try to realize screenings outside the SFF.
