Nikšić: The prosecution is obliged to investigate Dodik's illegal behaviour

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 13 (FENA) - President of the Social Democratic Party of BiH Nermin Nikšić said that no one normal in Bosnia and Herzegovina can be surprised by Milorad Dodik's hostile actions towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For weeks, Dodik has refused to give consent for the take-off of helicopters of the BiH Armed Forces, which, if activated in time, would certainly, if not stop the fires, then reduce the impending catastrophe, Nikšić points out, SDP stated.

However, Milorad Dodik, with his arrogant and rude behavior, shows that human lives are not important to him either. He is probably also aware that his political end is approaching, which is why he is rushing further, obviously with only one goal - to provoke someone's inappropriate reaction.

“It is completely incomprehensible that his actions by the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina have not already been characterized as a crime against endangering material goods, and perhaps human lives! The Prosecutor's Office of BiH is obliged to investigate such illegal and unconstitutional actions of the member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik,” Nikšić points out.

The appeals of environmental associations and residents of endangered areas should not go unanswered, especially because there is a possibility of burning the area with the most endemic species in Bosnia and Herzegovina!

“Although I am not completely surprised by Dodik's behavior, I cannot help noticing the weak response of the other two members of the Presidency of BiH, Šefik Džaferović and Željko Komšić. I expected at least a criminal report against Dodik, who, along with such actions, pushes the other two members of the Presidency into a criminal act, which according to the BiH Criminal Code is called "inaction" because apart from the letter to EUFOR, Komšić and Džaferović did nothing to provide the necessary assistance to endangered areas,” Nikšić said.

He further states that he is surprised by the silence of the Ministers of Defense Sifet Podžić and the Security of BiH Selmo Cikotić, who, according to Nikšić, had to show determination at this time and prove that BiH institutions do their job, function, and even ask for help and engagement of resources from neighboring countries that would certainly show more willingness to help than domestic politicians.
