SARAJEVO, August 19 (FENA) - The "Runway Night Run" race, in which 650 professionals and recreationists took part, was held last night on the runway of the Sarajevo International Airport.
The first place in the 5 km race in the men's category was won by Alija Imamović, the second place was won by Samir Halilović, and the third place was taken by Berin Mušanović.
When it comes to the women's category, on the section of 5 kilometers, the first place was taken by Amela Trožić, the second was Alma Alijagić, and the third place was won by Iryna Aniechkina-Janjić.
The international race was organized by the Sarajevo Marathon Association and Sarajevo International Airport.
For the first time in the history of the city of Sarajevo, runners had the opportunity to run on the runway of the Sarajevo International Airport, and after that they prepared an After Run Party for the organizer.
The race, which started exactly at midnight, was opened by Ambassador Johann Sattler, Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH, and the very beginning of the race was marked by a water salute.
In his address, Sattler emphasized that the EU delegation in BiH supports the idea of a healthy lifestyle and that he is glad to see such a large number of people from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also from Europe and the world living the saying "Healthy minds live in healthy bodies".
