MOSTAR, August 22 (FENA) - On Sunday, forest fires have again activated on Mount Čabulja, Bogodol, in Herzegovina.
Members of the Professional Fire Brigade of the City of Mostar are on the ground, said the Operational Center of the Civil Protection of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
The fire in the area of Zvekuša in the municipality of Konjic is also active, and firefighters from the Konjic Fire Brigade, forestry workers from Prenj-Konjic and locals are engaged in extinguishing the fire.
The fire is burning at inaccessible terrain above Donja Jablanica, and the fire is being extinguished by firefighters from Jablanica, local residents and other volunteers.
A request for assistance in extinguishing the fire from the air was sent to the FBiH Civil Protection Administration, requesting the help of a helicopter of the RS Helicopter Service.
Forest fire is also active in the municipality of Stolac in the area of Deran. Low grassland and vegetation are burning and due to the inaccessibility of the terrain, extinguishing from the mainland is impossible. Firefighters are on the ground and controlling the fire perimeter as much as possible.
