Novalić: FBiH has been investing more in agriculture in recent years

SARAJEVO, August 25 (FENA) - FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić said today at the Plum Fair in Gradačac that the Federation of BiH has been investing more in agricultural production in recent years.

He specified that this investment has increased from 67 million to 100 million KM in the last two years, and that another 15 million KM will be allocated through additional programs.

“Nevertheless, the amount of food and water we import shows that this is certainly not enough,” Novalić emphasized.

He pointed out that the importance of agricultural production was best shown last year, when Hungary and Serbia banned the export of wheat.

Novalić added that he decided to support the Plum Fair because the fairs under the pressure of the internet offer experienced a significant decline, which is obvious on the example of fairs in Zenica and Mostar.

He said that in Western countries, fairs are recording a revival because people want to see goods that internet presentations cannot conjure up for them.

“It is important that economic fairs survive because we believe that their importance will grow in the future,” said Novalić.
