SARAJEVO, August 27 (FENA) - BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović said today after a meeting between presidency members and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the country and its president are an important factor in the stability of the Balkans.
He added that BiH is on the European and NATO path, but that cooperation with Turkey, which is on the European path as well and is a member of NATO, is also very important.
Džaferović reminded that agreements on cooperation in the field of infrastructure were signed with Turkey, and that he personally advocates that the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway start in as many places in BiH as possible, both on the northern and southern connections.
He pointed out that the Free Trade Agreement was signed, in which there are many untapped opportunities for BiH, and BiH will have to further organize to use them.
“It is also up to BiH to help Turkish companies in BiH that are facing problems,” said Džaferović.
