VISOKO, August 29 (FENA) – A solemn ceremony was held yesterday at the Altindag Cultural Center in Visoko on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the founding of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Visoko, which was also attended by party president Bakir Izetbegović.
In his address, Izetbegović congratulated on the anniversary of the founding of the SDA in Visoko, emphasizing that this party has been following the path of pride, freedom and sovereignty for more than three decades.
“Some nations do not go through what we have experienced in that period in the whole century,” said Izetbegović.
He emphasized that it is necessary to recall the path crossed in the past 31 years, saying that the SDA led processes such as introducing democracy, organizing the defense of BiH, restoring statehood, creating an army that, as he said, defended the face and honor of Bosnians and Herzegovinians.
“We returned the name to Bosniaks, our language, we helped the Islamic community to restore the strength of faith,” Izetbegović added.
The SDA president said Visoko has always been a stronghold of the party. Now, he adds, it has finally got a strong team that can lead that party forward.
Speaking about the current political situation in BiH, he said that SDA is the force that most influences the path that BiH is taking, and that there are forces that would like the state to move in the opposite direction.
“I think we are witnessing a new determination of the international community initiated by the SDA,” said Izetbegović.
He also stressed the need for cooperation with neighboring countries in the region and stopping negative trends conditioned by the strengthening of nationalist movements. He also warned of endangering the rights of Bosniaks and Croats in the Republika Srpska entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
