SARAJEVO, August 29 (FENA) - The Mine Detection Dog Center in BiH has implemented the project "Sarajevo without mines".

“The project is fully funded by the US Government and aims to completely eliminate the mine danger in city municipalities that have faced mine danger so far,” said Director of the Center Nermin Hadžimujagić in an interview with FENA.

He added that with the completion of this project, four municipalities are completely free from mine danger, and with the participation of the Armed Forces of BiH and the FBiH Civil Protection Administration, which contributed to the implementation of tasks on the hill Žuč, the number of mines found is slightly more than 1,300.

“Therefore, a big step forward has been made in demining, not only in this region but in the whole of BiH,” concluded Hadžimujagić.

He said that with the closing ceremony, which will be held on September 1 this year, the project will be completed.

“The end of the project will be made official by a solemn ceremony that will be held in Sarajevo, in the presence of representatives of the US Government, US Embassy, City Administration of Sarajevo, as well as mayors of municipalities demined in this project,” announced Hadžimujagić.
