GRUDE, September 2 (FENA) - State Secretary of the Central State Office for Croats Abroad of the Republic of Croatia, Zvonko Milas visited today the construction site of the Education and Rehabilitation Center for Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities in Sovići, Grude municipality.
Milas was welcomed in the settlement of Sovići by the mayor of Grude, Ljubo Grizelj, who told reporters that the Government of the Republic of Croatia is a key co-financier of this construction project.
The value of the project is 700,000 KM, and the Government of the Republic of Croatia has secured 1.2 million HRK (about 300,000 KM) for its implementation.
The future center will provide young people with disabilities with half-day and full-day care, occupational and physical therapies, the services of a defectology specialist and speech therapist, and, in general, assistance for children who attend primary school under a customized program.
After visiting the construction site, Milas said that the very idea and initiative for the construction of this center shows that Grude has become a municipality and an environment that thinks of those who are in need the most.
"It is the care of this part of our population, the most endangered and the most in need, that shows how people live in a certain environment and that Grude is really an environment where it is pleasant to live in and where people can meet all their needs, even those that unfortunately face everyday difficulties. Our goal is to help all those projects that will enable the local population to live better, to stay in their homes, in the places where they were born," concluded Milas.
