Applications for a new cycle of training of young professionals in BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 3 (FENA) - Young civil servants from all over BiH have the opportunity to re-apply for an eight-week training in EU integration. The EU Scheme for Young Professionals in BiH is dedicated to improving public administration through the construction of a professional and depoliticized civil service, based on expertise and skills.

Civil servants with one to seven years of professional experience, who work on tasks related to the accession to the European Union and are directly involved in the processes of preparation and implementation of programs and activities financed by the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), can apply. The program is funded by the European Union and implemented by the British Council in BiH.

Nicolas Bizel, Head of the Section for Justice, Home Affairs and Public Administration Reform of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, pointed out that the EU Program for Young Professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a continuation of EU reform initiatives related to the process of strengthening the capacity of young civil servants.

Director of the project on behalf of the British Council in BiH, Amila Lagumdžija, stated that the project is a support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also to the entire Balkan region on the path to a more prosperous society.

The EU program for young civil servants in BiH is a two-year program and is a continuation of a successful regional project. Under the program, young civil servants have the opportunity to participate in a tailored four-week training program conducted by the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) in France and the College of Europe in Belgium, covering key public administration areas and areas relevant to the EU integration process. A one-week mobility program within the Western Balkans and a two-week exchange within BiH will allow candidates to spend time in a public administration institution at a different level from the one they work at in order to share good practice, connect and provide professional development.
