General Hospital - Most hospitalized Covid patients have not been vaccinated

SARAJEVO, September 7 (FENA) - The General Hospital 'Prim. dr. Abdullah Nakas recorded an increase in the number of patients infected with the corona virus, and most of them are unvaccinated were hospitalized.

According to available data, of the total hospitalized Covid patients, about 70 percent are unvaccinated. About four percent were vaccinated with the first dose, and about 24 percent received the second dose of some of the coronavirus vaccines.

Since the Covid ward of the General Hospital has been filled, another ward has been opened in that health institution (in the space of the former Department of Neurology), and the admission of patients has begun.

“Due to the new situation, some departments were merged and the medical staff was redistributed. In order to be ready to respond to the challenges of the fourth wave of the pandemic, the authorities were asked to approve the purchase of ventilators and the employment of the missing medical and other staff,” the General Hospital told FENA.

In the last 24 hours the Covid ward of the General Hospital 'Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš' received six patients for hospital treatment. Also, 64 patients were hospitalized in that ward, eight of whom are in intensive care, four are on a respirator, and six patients are on high oxygen flow.
