FENA Press release

SARAJEVO/ZAGREB, September 21 (FENA) - High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt paid an official visit to Zagreb today, where he met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

According to the Office of the High Representative (OHR), Schmidt and Plenković exchanged views on current political trends and developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans, with an emphasis on Euro-Atlantic integration.

They also discussed the electoral reform process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The High Representative emphasized the need to strengthen the functionality of BiH institutions through increased involvement of all domestic parties, with the support of the international community. Functionality, he stressed, is a necessary precondition for the country to emerge from the phase of international supervision and progress in integration into the European Union.

The High Representative thanked Prime Minister Plenković for Croatia's commitment and support for Bosnia and Herzegovina's and other countries in the region's aspirations to join the European Union.
