SARAJEVO, September 21 (FENA) - The presidents of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, Our Party and the People and Justice that make up the coalition of the so called Trojka, Nermin Nikšić, Edin Forto and Elmedin Konaković, spoke at a press conference today about the situation in BiH, the judiciary, referring in particular to the latest affair regarding the recording of a conversation between the director of the BiH Intelligence and Security Agency and the chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
Nikšić said that by taking to the streets and protesting, citizens must seek justice and the involvement of judicial institutions in order to resolve, as he said, numerous scandals and murder issues.
- You can imagine how difficult it is to get into a position to solve some things related to organized crime and corruption - said Nikšić.
He says that is something he especially emphasized in his first conversation with the new High Representative Christian Schmidt.
He noted that every year the international community engages significant funds, creates a new agenda and in each of these agendas the fight against corruption and organized crime is one of the key segments.
Nikšić also referred to the affair related to the recording of the conversation between the director of the Intelligence and Security Agency and the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
According to him, the story of who recorded it is less important, because "it is much more important that the recording is authentic."
The president of Naša stranka, Edin Forto, assessed that the video proves that the BiH the judiciary is deeply corrupt, stating that "this is a systemic problem, and that there are no innocents in that recording."
- In that recording, there are serious indications of breaking the law of everyone who sits at that meeting. I expect that criminal charges will be initiated, at least disciplinary charges against members of the judicial bodies - stated Forto.
When it comes to judicial reform, he says it sounds like a washed-out phrase, "but if there's one segment of society that needs to be turned upside down, it's our judiciary."
The President of the People and Justice, Elmedin Konaković, said that this was not the first recording, but that it was perhaps the most important so far, as he stated. He added that it is time for all of us to ask ourselves whether we should tolerate such a concept in which so much effort and resources and personal commitment of individuals were invested in this country, especially the international community, which tried to do the most in judicial reform.
