SARAJEVO, September 22 (FENA) - Courtney Chubb is the newly-appointed Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I look forward to joining the USAID Mission here in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a beautiful country with a rich cultural heritage and great natural resources. Over the next four years, USAID, under my leadership, will continue to work with BiH citizens to achieve a more prosperous, secure, and inclusive BiH,” Chubb said as she took office, USAID announced.
Prior to joining BiH, Courtney Chubb was Deputy Mission Director for USAID West Coast/Gaza Mission, and prior to that, Director of the Foreign Service Center in the Office of Human Capital and Talent Management at USAID headquarters in Washington.
In that role, she oversaw the Agency’s policies and operations supporting the careers of over 1,700 Foreign Service Officers. She has also served as a Supervisory Executive Officer at the USAID Missions in Thailand, Russia, and Mexico, leading multicultural teams providing a host of management services including IT, human resources, budgets, logistics, and procurement.
She started her USAID career as the Executive/Program Officer at the USAID Mission in Colombia, during a time of rapid and massive expansion of U.S. assistance to the country.
In 2021, USAID and BiH mark 25 years of partnership. To date, the US government, primarily through USAID, has provided USD 2 billion in assistance to support economic, democratic, and social progress in BiH.
