SARAJEVO, September 27 (FENA) - Commander of the US Special Operations Command in Europe, Major General David Tabor, said in Sarajevo today that the United States as an ally will continue to strengthen its partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"In the past, we enjoyed the partnership with the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) and we are very much looking forward to continuing to develop our excellent relations," said General Tabor after meeting with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the AFBiH for Operations Major General Ivica Jerkić.

At the same time, he praised the AFBiH on the recent establishment of the Military Information Center, emphasizing its readiness to assist in developing the center's capacity through the Regional Information Support Team, in order to establish a stronger link between the AFBiH and BiH citizens.

General Tabor also pointed out the exceptional activities carried out by the AFBiH Civil-Military Cooperation Team in coordination with the US Special Operations Forces Command in Europe, all with the aim of better preparing for the response to possible crisis situations.

"Training with our partners enhances our ability to work together in all circumstances. The skills, common way of working, and relationships developed during these exercises are directly applicable to all other scenarios, which means that if there are natural disasters and the like, we can respond quickly and effectively as a team and provide assistance to citizens," said General Tabor.

Answering journalists' questions about the extent to which the cooperation between the two countries is affected by the announcement by the BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik that the RS entity will form its own army, the US general said the United States continues to support Bosnia and Herzegovina's integrity.

"The United States and my forces as a NATO ally will continue to support the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will continue to support this country in maintaining stability and security as we have done in the past," said General Tabor.
