RS Constitutional Court: No violation of vital interest of Bosniak people

BANJA LUKA, September 27 (FENA) - The Council for the Protection of Vital Interest of the Constitutional Court of the entity of Republika Srpska determined at its session today that, the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of the RS, the Law on Non-Application of the Decision of the High Representative, and the Decisions on the Early Entry into Force of the Aforementioned Laws, which were passed by the National Assembly of the RS on July 30, 2021, do not violate the vital national interest of the Bosniak people.

The Cour Panel explained the position on the non-existence of violation of the vital national interest of the Bosniak people in relation to the disputed acts, among other reasons, primarily by the fact that the disputed normative solutions do not have an ethnic dimension and equally apply to all citizens of the RS.

Also, these acts, according to the Council, do not affect, directly or indirectly, the identity of any constituent people in the RS, and thus the identity of the Bosniak people, and the fact that the disputed acts do not contain normative solutions they cannot be the subject of protection of vital national interest, the RS Constitutional Court announced.
