SARAJEVO, September 30 (FENA) - Meeting of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency of the US Department of Defense Heidi H. Grant was held today, within the Adriatic Sea Defense and Aerospace Exhibition and Conference in Republic of Croatia.
On behalf of the Ministry of Defense of BiH, Minister of Defense Sifet Podžić and the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Colonel General Senad Mašović, participated in the conversation.
They discussed the improvement of cooperation in the field of defense between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has formally lasted since the mid-1990s, the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
Minister Podžić underlined the cooperation that is realized through several mechanisms and thus contributes to the achievement of NATO interoperability through the building of operational capabilities and the implementation of the modernization program of the AF BiH.
Director Grant expressed satisfaction with the productive relations between the two ministries, and stated that the achieved results best strengthen the argumentation about the need and possibilities for expanding the established instruments of cooperation.
She also emphasized the full support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the NATO path and thanked for everything that the BiH MoD is doing when it comes to international peace support operations in which the BiH AF participates, but also the contribution to demining operations and assistance to civilian authorities in BiH.
The Ministry stated that the United States expressed full support to the MoD and AF BiH in further modernization of air and land mobility, but also showed full readiness to expand very successful cooperation to other projects aimed at raising the level of interoperability and overall capabilities of the AF BiH.
