SARAJEVO, October 5 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić received representatives of Turkish companies in the field of military industry MKE and ASFAT, in order to discuss some of the potential aspects of modernization of the Armed Forces of BiH, the Press Service of the BiH Ministry of Defense announced.
The conversation was also attended by the Assistant Minister of Defense of BiH for Procurement and Logistics Borislav Jezeraškić. The delegation from the Republic of Turkey was led by the Turkish Military Envoy to BiH, Brigadier Mustafa Sitki Tatar, accompanied by business development manager Ali Hakan Şafak and chief research and development engineer Onur Yilmaz from MKE and strategy and business development director Yusuf Çalik and business development specialist Yasin Arslan from ASFAT.
Brigadier Tatar expressed his condolences to Minister Podžić over the death of cadet of the Armed Forces of BiH Said Hasanović in Turkey and expressed the desire to help his family. He stressed that he believes the sudden death of the cadets will be another reason to strengthen friendly relations between BiH and the Republic of Turkey.
Presentations of Turkish military industry companies should result in the implementation of the Agreement on Military-Financial Cooperation between the BiH Council of Ministers and the Government of the Republic of Turkey, which provides about 45 million KM to support the modernization of the BiH Armed Forces and further training.
