SARAJEVO, October 7 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received former president of the United Nations Security Council, Ambassador Diego Arria.
According to the BiH Presidency, Džaferović thanked Ambassador Arria for everything he did for Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war, as Venezuela's permanent representative to the United Nations Security Council and president of the UN Security Council.
BiH Presidency member Džaferović said that Ambassador Arria had fulfilled his human duty, because in the summer of 1993, after his visit to Srebrenica, he warned the international community that genocide was happening, but there was no timely reaction.
It was emphasized that from the period 1992-1995 the international community must learn lessons for current and future challenges, bearing in mind that the same threatening rhetoric is directed against Bosnia and Herzegovina on the scene.
Džaferović wished good health to Ambassador Arria and said that he would forever be remembered as a great friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who came to the rescue when it was most difficult, the BiH Presidency said.
