Turković - Nelson: Support for reforms in the interest of all BiH citizens

SARAJEVO, October 8 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković talked today with the Ambassador of the United States of America Eric Nelson and his Deputy Deborah Mennuti.

They discussed the ongoing political situation in BiH, with special reference to the necessity of full functioning of the state institutions, the continuation of work on constitutional and electoral reforms, the importance of the independence of the judiciary, and other important issues of common interest.

Minister Turković emphasized the importance of the active and constructive role of the United States in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region, as well as Washington's continued support for BiH's Euro-Atlantic path, reforms and the fight against corruption and organized crime.

There was also talk of combating the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and of coordinating and harmonizing positions on foreign policy and human rights.

Ambassador Nelson reiterated unequivocal support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for reforms in the interest of all BiH citizens, the BiH MFA said.
