SARAJEVO, October 13 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović said today in Sarajevo, after a talk with deputies Dragan Čović and Nikola Špirić, that no agreement will be possible until the RS National Assembly changes its decisions.
He pointed out that Špirić does not want to act outside these decisions and that for the time being, no collegium or sessions of the House of Peoples will be held.
"It is possible to convene a session, but Serb delegates will not come to it and it would not be possible to make decisions," said Izetbegović.
He believes that the SNSD has been going in the wrong direction for 15 years, which was timid at first and then more open and daring.
"That has led to the worsening of the situation in BiH, the blow to the living standard and the decisions of young people to leave the country," stated Izetbegović.
Izetbegović said that Milorad Dodik's announcements about an independent RS within the Dayton BiH and the withdrawal of consent for a number of institutions are not feasible in practice and that they will be overturned by decisions of the OHR or the Constitutional Court.
He added that Čović reiterated that he was no longer ready to delete the ethnic prefix from the BiH Constitution because he believes that this is a fundamental right of Croats in BiH.
"It would be difficult to delete that prefix. I do not see a way to implement the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, and Čović signed it with me a year and a half ago in Mostar, I do not see a way to do that if we do not delete those prefixes," said Izetbegović.
